BACK TO SCHOOL

I don't know if I can actually say that I've had summer vacation due to the exam I had at the beginning of August, but I guess I did. Summer went by in a flash and before you knew it, school's starting again.

a daily routine

Summer is officially over on the Sunday before school starts again. I've been spending a good amount of time during the last few days to see through all my classes' syllabuses and set up a somewhat decent overview of the next few months.

A new semester after summer always feels like a new start in comparison to a new semester after the new year. I guess that's just how it is when you've been going to school for 15 years.

As I'm getting prepared for school, my boyfriend has graduated and is enjoying life before starting full-time at his brand new job, straight out of college. To him, it still feels like he has a class to read for or a test to study for. The feeling still lingers behind as he slowly walks toward "adult life". It's a weird feeling, and I can't wait to get there.

I've had a rocky relationship with school for a while, but at the beginning of each fall semester, I still feel like it's good to come back to school and have a daily routine again. No matter what, I always begin the school year with a good feeling, and I'll try my best to hold on to that feeling.

goals, goals, goals

This school year, I'm trying something new and will set goals for myself.

1. Read the chapters corresponding to each lecture, before the lecture. I know this is a no-brainer, but I'm actually pretty bad at this.

2. Work with the material I've learned in a lecture right after class, and not wait a day or two after.

3. Study consistently.

To be honest, I'm a bit excited for the year to come, and am somewhat ready to jump in and study. I hope it'll be a good year.

Good luck to everyone who's going back to school!

Much love, Ellen
